Tunnel Number 1 Update

Post by Tom on Sun Jun 23, 2013 2:47 pm

This is from the Skunk Train site.  Great news!

TUNNEL NO. 1 UPDATE
Thank you to all the individuals and local businesses who stepped forward in our SOS efforts — so many of you sent in very kind notes and comments about the Skunk, and we truly appreciate it.
A big thanks to Save the Redwoods League for stepping up to ensure service will be restored sooner rather than later and by taking the necessary first steps in protecting the trees and train line corridor.
Construction work will begin immediately; we hope to have full service restored to the railroad by mid-July, with service from Willits starting sooner. We will provide details of the rebuild project on a regular basis.
If you missed helping out — you can still support or efforts by visiting.
With the deepest gratitude for your support and generosity, we thank you!
The Skunk Train Staff
