Drought news?

Holy Crud! What happened to the Winter?? Salmon will suffer if they can't spawn. There is almost no snowpack. What the heck will happen if there isn't enough?
Anyone having problems they want to share? I have heard several stories of well drying up already.

Yeah, this one is a bad one by any measurement.
If February stays dry, things could get VERY bad.
Let's hope things return to the more normal pattern soon!

Still, one has to wonder how much desalinization plant water 25 billion dollars would generate?
That amount is what the gov wants to spend digging a massive tunnel from north to south.
I don't know enough about desalinization to say for certain, but 25 billion dollars is a LOT of money and could probably buy a LOT in the way of seawater treatment plant(s).
I'd love to know more if anyone knows more.

I seem to remember a while back there was an idea for a water desalinization plant that would produce electricity, or hydrogen or something.

Even better.
Before we spend 25,000,000,000 dollars on a tunnel to the wetlands, I sure hope someone with actual knowledge has looked at this option.
